Kitchen Appliance Installation

New Appliances Are the Finishing Touch

kitchen appliancesAppliances are like crows feet in the kitchen. Even if your cabinets and countertops don’t scream “OUTDATED” yet, your appliances will. The main reason is that most people don’t replace their appliances until they stop working. The result is a 15 year old refrigerator or stove that is starting to look out of style. Colors, styles and trends change and appliances seem to be the factor in kitchens, like crows feet on a face, that give its age away. Most times a kitchen remodel calls for updating appliances.

At CabinetReface Kitchens & Bathrooms, we partner with local retailer Factory Direct Appliances to give you the best selection at the best price. If you haven’t purchased an appliance in the last ten years, it can be a little overwhelming. With all the new features, brands, prices and styles, you’ll have more options than you probably want to think about. But, don’t worry, Mike can help you make the final decisions and even meet you at Factory Direct to help in the process if you’d like. And don’t forget you can always look up information on the internet about the pros and cons of specific models. Once you make your decisions, we will install it for you.

Appliance Features

Aside from great looks, there are many new features on modern appliances that make them desirable. Innovations in efficiency, convenience and product design lead the trends in cooking products.

  • Dishwashers not only clean great, but operate in whisper quiet modes.
  • Ranges with double ovens not only give you more space for cooking, but they let you cook two different dishes at two different temperatures.
  • Microwaves have gotten fancy as well. Today’s microwaves not only heat food, but can defrost, grill, and brown. Many have one-touch popcorn buttons and some even offer convection and fast cooking options.
  • Refrigerators come with LCD screens to control features like ice and water. Water dispensers in the door not only encourage more water drinking, but also keep kids from opening the fridge every few minutes to get a drink. Lower snack drawers give small children easy access and also keep the kids from leaving the doors open while getting a snack. Then there’s the myriad styles available – single door, double door, four-door (French doors above with a freezer drawer and a snack drawer below).

Design Trends

As far as colors go, the appliance market has been pretty stable in the last decade or so. White is still the best seller and stainless steel is still in if you’d like a little more upscale look. In fact, manufacturers have improved the stainless steel of the past that was prone to fingerprints. They now offer a version of faux stainless that resists fingerprints and still provides the look of stainless steel.
